Jean Mc Sween Donkle weds Eugene Richardson LaBruce
The celebration and blessing of the marriage of Jean Mc Sween Donkle and Eugene Richardson LaBruce was held Saturday August 21 at six o'clock in the evening. Sevices were conducted at Holy Cross-Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, Pawleys Island, S.C. by the Reverend Tommy H. Tipton, Rector. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Langston (Rusty) Donkle, Jr. of Greenville, SC and Corinne Grimsley Donkle, now of Raleigh, NC. Her maternal grandparents were Dr. and Mrs. Newton Bond Jones, both of Greenville. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Langston Donkle, III of Pawleys Island. Mrs. LaBruce is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with majors in English and Art. She was a contributor to "YALL" magazine and was employed for the past two years organizing the catering for Ole Miss sporting events. The bride's sisters; Catherine Crews Donkle of Pawleys Island and Ellen Cabaniss (Sister) Donkle of New Orleans were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Charlotte Lee Stoner Dettbarn of Charleston, Anna Barriault Cote' of Nashville, Abagail Bain Cote' of Spartanburg and Sarah Elizabeth LaBruce of Myrtle Beach. The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Eugene Joseph Cote' of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Mr. Cote' and Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Pettigru LaBruce Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC . He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Pettigru LaBruce III of Myrtle Beach. Mr. LaBruce is a graduate of The McCallie School, Davidson College where he was a Bonner Scholar and a Scott Candler Scholar and is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law where he wrote for the Law Review. He is employed by Mikell, Weidner, Wegmann and Harper LLC in Beaufort, SC. Best Man was Laurence Pettigru LaBruce III, father of the groom. Groomsmen included Laurence Pettigru LaBruce IV, brother of the groom of Savannah, GA; Allston Alexander LaBruce, brother of the groom of Myrtle Beach, SC; William Frederick Marscher, cousin of the groom, of Charleston, SC; John Christopher Marscher, cousin of the groom of Hilton Head, SC; James Louis LaBruce, Jr., cousin of the groom of Myrtle Beach, SC; Brian Thomas Kennedy of East Lansing, Michigan; Garrett David Jenkins of Charlotte, NC; Eustace Harold Winn IV of Bonoit, Mississippi. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday Night at Heritage Plantation, Pawleys Island. The bride's parents held a reception Saturday evening at the Winyah Indigo Society Hall in Georgetown. Mr. and Mrs. LaBruce will honeymoon on Cooper Island, British West Indes before returning to Beaufort.
The Donkle-LaBruce wedding took place Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Pawleys Island.
Keri Moore and Isaac Martin are married
Keri Lynne Moore, of Andrews, South Carolina, and Isaac Andrew Martin, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, were wed on June 19, 2010. The ceremony took place at two o’clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Andrews. The officiating clergyman was Joe L. Lambert, Jr. A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Lori Moore, of Andrews. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Bryant and Ruby Moore of Andrews. She is attending Lee University in Cleveland, TN where she is studying computer information systems. The groom is the son of Jerrold Martin and Kathi Cochran, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. He is the grandson of Janis Philbrook of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. He is studying telecommunications at Lee University. Bridesmaids were Dinah and Rebecca Moore, sisters of the bride, Elizabeth Bryant, cousin of the bride, and Melanie Lambert, friend of the bride. Groomsmen were Aaron Martin, brother of the groom, Alex McElwee, cousin of the bride, Jordan Crowe, friend of the groom, and Grant Gipson, friend of the groom. Musical selections consisted of “In this Very Room” sang by Cortney Sapp and “Be thou My Vision” played during the lighting of the unity candle. A miscellaneous shower for the bride was hosted by Mary Ellen Fishburne, Gayle Tanner, Lynette Bryant, and Sharon Bryant. Gayle Tanner and Sharon Bryant hosted the bridal luncheon. A rehearsal dinner was held on Friday night at Andrews Church of God. The couple now resides in Cleveland, Tennessee where they will complete their bachelor degrees at Lee University.
The Moore-Martin wedding took place on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Andrews. The couple now resides in Tennessee.
